The Purpose of This

I try to have everything I do in my life have a purpose to some degree, and this blog is no different. I know I can post notes on Facebook, but somehow it's not quite the same. Anyway, the title of this blog came from two books: Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell and The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard. Smash them together and you get The Velvet Conspiracy, which will hopefully become an outlet for my thoughts regarding life, love, and God.

I like the name The Velvet Conspiracy, its sounds 80's yet modern. It hints at something deeper than what it may seem. This is my wish of this blog, to challenge thinking of what it means to follow Christ, and to shed light on thing I think the church can do better, but more importantly things I can do better. We can't change anyone else until we change ourselves, and that is more than half the battle. So join me on my journey into adulthood as I try to change myself, and by God's strength may I do so, and with His power may you and I change the world.
